It’s the rainy season and also high season in Bali. Similar to November, December can bring a lot of rain, but you will still have days to enjoy the beach. Due to Christmas and New Year’s, Bali becomes very busy, with peak season running from December 23rd to January 6th. Famous DJs fly in to entertain the crowds during New Year’s Eve parties, and hotels and restaurants offer various culinary packages and surprises. Consequently, accommodation prices rise.
Despite the rain, December is an exciting time to visit Bali due to the numerous events and festive atmosphere. People from all over the world come to enjoy great food, party with old and new friends, and experience the vibrant end-of-year celebrations.
Heavy rainfall is common in December, especially if November was relatively dry, marking the full onset of the monsoon season. Rainfall can be intense but typically short, lasting from a few minutes to a few days. The sea conditions are rough, and it can be windy in the south. Trash may wash up on the shores of Kuta, Seminyak, and Canggu, sometimes lasting until February depending on the wind and currents.
