Unprecedented Collaboration: Evergreen College and Stunning Bali Universities Partner for World Tourism Network Scholarship Programs
The World Tourism Network (WTN) has achieved an extraordinary collaboration, bringing together EVERGREEN College in Canada and PATA Indonesia, with the support of several prestigious tourism universities in Bali. This partnership, facilitated by PATA Indonesia, aims to establish scholarship programs that offer unique opportunities for Bali’s youth to study and work in Canada.
Nyoman Theo Mahendra, the representative of PHONUS in Denpasar, expressed that the main focus of this collaboration is to empower and enhance the capabilities of the younger generation. Through these scholarship programs, they can gain valuable overseas exposure and educational experiences in Canada.
The primary objective of this partnership is to cultivate highly skilled human resources among the younger generation, making them competitive and prepared for the real world. Additionally, it aims to foster collaboration between universities and strengthen the competitiveness of hospitality programs in the tourism industry.
PHONUS is a professional community in the hotel industry throughout Indonesia, which fosters networking among professionals to deliver the best methods in developing skilled human resources. Their goal is to create top-notch hotel management teams in the field of tourism. They provide education, training, support, and connections to their members, aspiring towards a more sustainable tourism concept in the nation.
Mudi Astuti, Chair of WTN Indonesia, mentioned that this collaboration was made possible through the partnership between WTN Indonesia Chapter and PATA Indonesia Chapter. PATA Indonesia Chapter has already established connections with several tourism schools in Indonesia. WTN Indonesia facilitates the Hospitality Management Operations scholarship program to various universities partnered with PATA Indonesia Chapter and PHONUS Partner Institutions.
To ensure the smooth operation of the program, including visa arrangements, recruitment processes, and student protection during the study program, the three tourism organizations are conducting awareness campaigns and visits to different universities in Bali. These universities include Triatma Mulya University, Bali International Polytechnic, SPB & IBI Vocational School, Dyana Pura University, ELIZABETH Vocational School, and Bali Tourism Polytechnic.
Ningsih Chandra of PATA Indonesia highlighted that PATA Indonesia Chapter collaborates with 20 universities across Australia and multiple cities in Indonesia, such as Jakarta, Bandung, Bali, and Yogyakarta. As WTN’s educational partner, they aim to support knowledge enhancement and provide opportunities for overseas work experience. The scholarship program offered by Evergreen College in Toronto aims to enhance graduates’ competitiveness and value to Indonesia’s thriving tourism industry.
In conclusion, this unprecedented collaboration between EVERGREEN College, PATA Indonesia, and the tourism universities in Bali is set to pave the way for a bright future for Bali’s young generation. Through these scholarship programs, they will gain unique experiences and valuable knowledge, preparing them for successful careers in the tourism industry.
