You won’t believe what Kemenparekraf has to say about WTN SUMMIT TIME 2023’s groundbreaking International Medical and Wellness Tourism Development!

Discover the Latest Insights from Kemenparekraf about WTN SUMMIT TIME 2023’s Revolutionary International Medical and Wellness Tourism Development!

The Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy (Kemenparekraf) has shown its support and excitement for the upcoming WTN SUMMIT TIME 2023 Forum. This event is groundbreaking as it focuses on the rapidly growing field of Health Tourism, specifically Medical and Wellness Tourism. These aspects are seen as innovative and promising for the future development of Indonesia.

During the WTN SUMMIT TIME 2023 event at the luxurious Renaissance Resort & Spa in Uluwatu, Bali, Vinsensius Jemadu, the Deputy for Destination and Infrastructure Development at Kemenparekraf, expressed his thoughts on the matter. He emphasized the significant potential for Indonesia to become a major player in the Medical and Wellness Tourism industry.

In the past, many Indonesians have sought medical and wellness services in neighboring countries like Malaysia. However, President Joko Widodo’s creation of a Special Economic Zone (KEK) for Health Tourism in Sanur aims to change this trend. The KEK in Sanur is designed to cater to both medical and wellness tourism, making Bali an ideal location for this sector’s development, especially in the post-Covid-19 era.

Vinsensius Jemadu also highlighted that once the Special Economic Zone in Sanur is completed, tourists can experience not only top-notch Medical and Wellness services but also enjoy the beauty and attractions of Bali. The progress of the project is steady, with completion and inauguration expected in February next year.

The Deputy for Destination and Infrastructure Development at Kemenparekraf expressed his pride in having an international-standard Special Economic Zone in Sanur dedicated to Medical and Wellness Tourism. However, he acknowledged that promoting the Special Economic Zone remains a challenge. This is because many Indonesians still prefer Malaysia and Singapore for their medical and health tourism needs.

To overcome this challenge, efforts are being made to build trust and confidence in Indonesia’s ability to provide world-class Health Tourism services. Collaboration between the Ministry of Health and the Ministry of Tourism is crucial to continuously promote and raise awareness about the offerings available in the Special Economic Zone.

When it comes to attracting doctors and healthcare experts to Bali, Vinsensius Jemadu emphasized the need to find optimal solutions to meet the growing demand. As Indonesia is still in the early stages of developing Health Tourism, the government is exploring online platforms and implementing relevant policies to accommodate the increasing demand.

With Kemenparekraf’s support and determination, Indonesia is poised to emerge as a leading destination for Medical and Wellness Tourism. The progress made in developing the Special Economic Zone in Sanur is a testament to the country’s commitment to providing exceptional healthcare services while offering a beautiful and memorable tourist experience. Stay tuned for more updates on this exciting journey!
